What really matters...
Angie also wrote a blog on perspectives...She is so right!
There is no need for me to fret over silly stuff like how many christmas presents I have for the kids or how messy my house is or what we don't have and what we WANT...
Angie told me about her friend Demi which she met through her daughters girl scouts last year. Demi's husband had cancer. She has 3 children. Angie and I use to go walking at night and we would chat about all kinds of things. We happened to walk by her friend Demi's house one night. Ever since then I would pass by her house on my way home and I would say a prayer to bless their family and to help her husband. Well last week (Wednesday) I drove by her house again for what ever reason. I slowed down and I noticed that the bushes were over grown and the house looked really dark. No christmas decorations or anything. I thought...me and angie need to get together and do something. I felt a tug at my heart saying..do something!
Well, I called angie right away and I told her my thoughts and she said we will work on it. I talked to Angie Friday (two days later) and she said she talked to Demi and her husband passed away on Wednesday!! I wanted to just cry my eyes out! I can only imagine what she is going through. I know it has got to be hard on her now with Christmas in a few days and they had NO health insurance on her husband. It is really sad!
All I want to do is help her some kind of a way...
It just reminds me of how much pain it is to loose someone you love so much!
I have never felt pain like I did last year when my mom passed. That hole in my heart will never heal! It also reminds me what I learned last year..Never take a single day for granted! You never know what tomorrow holds.
Love,
Lizzy

From Angie's Blog...Please Read
Request from the heart
I know like everyone, you all are probably spent this Christmas, but I have a request:
Delaney has a good friend named Victoria she met through Girl Scouts last year when I was her Brownie troop leader. If you've been reading this blog long and heard me asking for prayer requests for them, you know how special this little girl and her family are to me. I have become friends with her mom, Demi, in the past year and a half as well. We have been praying very hard for their family because Victoria's Daddy, Jody, has been battling cancer. Well, this past Wednesday, he lost his battle and went to be with Jesus.
It happened quite suddenly... Victoria was getting ready to go to NYC with her aunt and Demi ran out to get her a disposable digital camera to take. When she returned home, Jody was gasping for air and she called 911. He lost his pulse a couple times and within 30 minutes of getting to the E.R. he was gone and there was nothing else to do. Needless to say, that precious family is devastated. They were told he'd try this chemo and if it didn't work they had another one to try. They still had hope left... and suddenly have nothing.
My friend, Lizzy, called Wednesday (actually the day he died) and said she felt we need to do something for them this year - like decorate the outside of their house or collect food for them. We had started to get things together to surprise them when I heard the news. Last year my family gave them a gift card to Wal-Mart for almost $400 - anonymously. Victoria and her 4-year-old little sister, Emily, had a wonderful Christmas and it felt SOOO good on this end. They also have an 18 year old half-brother, Travis, who lives with them.
I know it's "last minute", but what can we do for them? I feel like it needs to be BIG. Of course what they need most are prayers, so please send some up for them - for strength and will and that they'll figure out a way to pick up the pieces and move forward. I feel as though they need a good Christmas. They need a reason to smile. I can collect food, money, toys, anything! They don't have much, between medical bills, Demi having to quit her job to take care of him, etc. Anything would be well appreciated. So, if you feel like you have something to give, please email me ryangie97@bellsouthnet or call me (985-661-1671/788-5592). Also, if you have any ideas of how things might be handled (considering I've never done anything on this scale before), I would be more that open to suggestions.
Please pass this on to everyone you think may want to help. I have a limited # of email addresses due to the fact that Hurricane Gustav zapped my computer...
My heart is breaking for this family.

Our New Ornaments
Here's are Ornaments for this year. I have been really bad at buying Ornaments so I decided that this year we will start doing this. Here we go...:)
The kids and I went to the Mall yesterday so that Gabe could get a hair cut and also so they could get a picture with Santa and tell him what they wanted! The kids had a blast and they were very well behaved! I am so proud of my kiddos. They are really good! Gabe sat like a big boy when he got his hair cut. He did everything that Mrs. Dawn (Hair dresser) said! This is his second time sitting in the barber chair all by himself! What a little Man!
The kids helped me pick out the Ornaments and I love the one that says "snug as a bug". I always tell the kids that when they go to sleep. When Victoria is here, all the kids pile in one bed which is either Gabe's full size bed or Victoria's bed with the pull out bed underneath. It is so cute! I don't make them do that! They do that because they like being together. It is so adorable. Gabe and Ellie sleep together every night.
I am so blessed! I can't believe how fast they are growing up. Gabe says now.."I am so tired of this!"
I wonder where he gets that from..."ME". I say that alot lately because it seems like every time I pick up the toys or clean the house, I have to start all over again and the house is a disaster! Can't people pick up after themselves??
Yea right!! A Mom's job is NEVER done! Ha ha..
I have been really busy still with my photography business! I am so grateful and Thankful!
I couldn't ask for anything else...
All I want for Christmas is: to be together with my family!
My cousin Bobby got in a tragic car accident the other night and it is a Miracle that he survived the wreck. His car is Totaled. They had to cut him out of the car!! He is still in the Hospital right now. I know he has a broken leg and a broken arm. Not to sure what else as of now. I know he is in stable condition! Thank God! His angels were with him for sure!!! Praise God! Please continue to keep him in your prayers for a speedy recovery!
My Dad had knee surgery this week and is doing okay. He is in a good bit of pain but recovering pretty well. He will have surgery on the other knee once he recovers from this surgery.
That is all for now...I will post the picture of the kids with Santa soon!
All my love,
Lizzy

My brother Nathan...
Hello All,
I had the pleasure of photographing my brother Nathan. He is getting so big! I can remember just last year around this time, Mom found out she was pregnant with him. My brother and I are 30 years apart! It is amazing but God has a reason for everything and Nathan is truly a Blessing! What a gift and what a moment to be thankful! Nathan is a healthy baby boy! He is full of smiles and laughter and you can't help but smile when you see his little face!
Here are some pictures from today. Rachel and I were going to try to keep these pictures from mom until Christmas but so much for that! We HAD to show her! She loved them and she cried! :)
Enjoy!!
Love to all,
Lizzy
P.S. For those of you who are reading this and are a little confused...I have 2 moms and also 2 dads. My parents were divorced when I was 2. My "Real" mom passed away from a brain aneurism last year in May. It is my step mom that had a baby this year.
