Not yet..

I mentioned that I have been reading a devotional book for couples. I have been reading it by myself for now. Danny is very busy lately with work.

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1: 2-4

Here is a story from the book: Awesome and so true!!
There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. This was their twenty-fith wedding anniversary. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups. One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said, "May we see that? We've never seen one quite so beautiful." As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke.

"You don't understand," it said. "I haven't always been a teacup. There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, 'Let me alone,' but he only smiled, 'Not yet.'
"Then I was placed on a spinning wheel," the teacup said, "and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. 'Stop it! I'm getting dissy!' I screamed. But he master only nodded and said, 'Not yet.'
"Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled, and I knocked at the door. I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head, 'Not yet.'
"Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. 'There, that's better,' I said. And he brushed and painted me all over. The fumes were horrible. I thought I would gag. 'Stop it, stop it!' I cried. He only nodded, 'Not yet.'
"Then suddenly he put me back into the oven, not like the first one. This was twice as hot and I knew I would suffocate. I begged. I pleaded. I screamed. I cried. All the time I could see him through the opening nodding his head, saying, 'Not yet.'
"Then I knew there wasn't any hope. I would never make it. I was ready to give up. But the door opened and he took me out and place me on the shelf. One hour later he handed me a mirror and said, 'Look at yourself.' And I did. I said, 'That's not me; that couldn't be me. It's beautiful. I'm Beautiful.'
"'I want you to remember , then,' he said, ' I know it hurt to be rolled and patted, but if I just left you, you'd have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I know it hurt and it was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn't put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn't done that, you never would have hardened. you would not have had any color in your life, and if I hadn't put you back inteh second oven, you wouldn't survive for very long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. You are what I had in mind when I first began with you.'"

As a couple we will face many adversities in life. Trials that will attempt to split us apart --separate us from our churchs, and even our businesses. That's life! Some of us are in the oven screaming, hollering, kicking on the door, and yelling, "Let me out of here! I can't take it any longer!" Some of us are in the glaze stage and are getting our final paint job. The fumes and stench are bothering us and making our heads go in circles. A few of us are going round and round on the spinning wheel. We are disoriented and just want off. It's got to stop someday, so we figure it might as well be today. Everything's a mess, and God keeps saying, "Not yet, not yet."

I thought this was an awesome story and I wanted to share it. I just opened the book and this is the story I came upon. I felt like God wanted me to read it and it is a perfect time in my life right now.
I hope this can help someone else who reads it like it helped me.
Love to all,
Lizzy

Two peas in a Pod..:)

Here are some more pictures that I have taken lately. These twin babies are so adorable. It is such an honor take pictures that will be in their family forever. They don't stay little forever. It is a time to treasure because it will change in the blink of an eye!

"Be still and know that I AM"

We are in too big a hurry, and we run by far more than we catch up with. The Bible tells us to "be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10 KJV). Beauty doesn't shout. Loveliness is quiet. Our finest moods are not clamorous. The familiar appeals of the Divine are always in calm tones...a still, small voice.
Charles L. Allen

I have been reading some devotions for couples lately and It has really helped me deal with the trying times we are having lately. It is so easy to deal with life when things are going great, but when times get tough, we tend to look for God. We should always look to God through our ups and downs. It is like a marriage..for better or worse and through sickness and in health. I am preaching to myself as well. I am far from perfect.
Daniel and I had the chance to go and see the movie "Fireproof" this past Wednesday.
It was an awesome movie and very powerful. I am so glad we went! I think everyone should go and see that movie. I find it amazing how most of the movies that are rated "R" are really popular but movies that are rated "PG" are not appealing to the world today. This movie did not have any curse words in it and it was really nice to sit there and watch a movie without profanity.

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."
